Workshops sharpening
Is this workshop for me?
This workshop is made for both beginners and advanced users and would like to learn something about sharpening kitchen knives on a Belgian sharpening stone with water using the Japanese method. Given the maximum number of 10 people per workshop, this allows for individual guidance. It is with great pleasure that I pass on my passion for sharpening to you.
What do I need to bring myself?
Bring your most used kitchen knives. Certainly also a chef's knife (high blade). This knife is used for learning the actions. A paring knife and a mill knife are sharpened in a different way. Only knives with a smooth edge are eligible.
Organization of the workshop
We work in my studio, but if the weather is good, we can sit outside. I provide the sharpening stones, cutting paper, tomatoes for the test, ...
Safety
High-speed machines are not useful. No special safety measures need to be taken. Cutting your fingers is part of the job. We provide a first-aid kit. Participation at your own risk.
Registration
You can register by contacting us by email or by phone. The registration is only final when the money has been transferred. Possible dates 2025 This list will be posted on the website soon.
Workshop at your location
This is perfectly possible. From 8 people I teach at the place where you organize this. The subject can be adapted to your needs (e.g. hunting knives, Japanese knives,..) and depends on the experience and time frame available. Price on request.
